ABOUT BAGUS ADIMAS

Bagus Adimas was born on December 30, 1987 in Surabaya, Indonesia. When he was 12 years old, he began to learn classical piano at Wisma Musik Surabaya. Bagus has completed his study in the department of arts and culture and obtained Master degree in Universitas Negeri Surabaya in 2013. One of the prominent pupils of the Indonesian Jazz Maestro, Bagus was a protege of Bubi Chen from 2001 until 2009. He also participated music clinics in Surabaya, coached by Prof. Alexey Sokolov (Russia), Jazz Chicago Jazz Quartet (USA),  Ad Colen Quartet (Netherlands), and Prof. Slamet Abdul Sjukur (Indonesia).

 

Bagus actively performs in events and showcase such as Ngayogjazz Festival in Yogyakarta (2008 & 2009), Jazz Gunung Festival in Mount Bromo (2010), GWalk Percussion Festival in Surabaya (2011), Jazz Traffic in Surabaya (2011 & 2013), Jazz Goes to Campus in Jakarta (2014), Kampoeng Djawi Jazz Festival in Jombang (2016 & 2017), fund raising UNICEF (2013), and tribute concert series to Bubi Chen in 2013 in Semarang, Yogyakarta and Surabaya. He shared stage with Indonesian finest jazz musicians such as Syaharani, Tri Utami, and Oele Patisselano. During his musical career, Bagus won Bubi Chen Award in 2006 for the category of Creative Piano in Semarang, MURI Awards in 2010 for the category of Blind Person Solo Piano Recital, and The Best Keyboardist LA Light Jazz Fusion Music Competition in 2010 in Semarang.

 

Furthermore, Bagus also engaged in Ctwosix Jazz Club in Surabaya and joined Surabaya All Star in 2018. In 2019, Bagus and Eva had a tour with Komunitas Jazz Indonesia in Blitar, Pejazztrian jazz festival in Yogyakarta, International Jazz Day in Tulungagung, a showcase in Batu city Malang, and with local jazz community in Surabaya.
